What to Expect

Rezūm therapy is performed within your provider’s office in just minutes. The entire therapy session will last less than 30 minutes.

What you can expect with Rezūm:

A healthcare provider will numb the area before the procedure to reduce discomfort.
The instrument goes through your urethra, so you won’t have incisions or need stitches.
Your doctor will inject the water vapor or steam into the targeted prostate tissue.
Once injected, the steam will begin to break apart lesions that have formed by destroying their cells.
With the lesions gone, the urinary channel is now freely open as it should be, which will gradually resolve any urinary issues.
Each individual treatment takes about 10 seconds. Up to 15 treatments can be given during one procedure.
Your doctor will determine the number of treatments you need based on the size of your prostate.

After Rezūm Therapy

After the procedure you can expect:

To use a catheter to help you urinate until the swelling goes down
